Kristen Ford - Wild Heart (single)

I wrote this song right after the Governor of TN put up a drag ban. It’s so frustrating to see a beautiful city like Nashville, with it’s music and it’s queer culture and artists and my friends who are theys and thems. To just keep getting beat down by a corrupt government and an oppressive culture of good ole boys. This song was started by me and Ani helped me to finish it, which was like, wow holy shit I’m working with my hero and this really means something, this song really punches back. I felt the power recording it, playing together, plus Matty added all this percussion which feels like the tribal, heartbeat we all dance to something wild and free and uncontrollable. The mix and sonic landscapes which Hop created really took things over the top, I felt like I was plunged into a live Radiohead show, I love having my chorus of Ani and Hop singing with me, the truth tellers. We are mighty when we come together.
